How we work - Organization & Governance

The Atlas of Variant Effects Alliance is an independent, internationally recognized organization founded in 2020. The structure and governance of the Alliance is a lightweight and dynamic framework that aims to maximize impact while retaining the ability to grow and adapt.

The structure of the Alliance is currently comprised of the following workstreams and committees.

Workstreams

Workstreams consist of a core set of Alliance members and are structured to be durable and take on specific tasks in order to realize the goals of the Alliance.

• Clinical Variant Interpretation

• Data Coordination and Dissemination

• Experimental Technology and Standards

• Analysis, Modelling and Prediction

Committees

The Executive Committee (EC) facilitates partnerships between the Alliance and stakeholder communities. We also have a Variant Effects Seminar Series (VESS) Organizing Committee.
