The opportunity
Join the Atlas of Variant Effects Executive Committee
The Atlas of Variant Effects (AVE) Alliance is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Executive Committee.
Role of Executive Committee members:
Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Alliance
Facilitate collaboration among researchers, funders, and stakeholders
Oversee the development and implementation of key projects and initiatives
Advocate for the Alliance's goals and represent our interests in the broader scientific community
Member Responsibilities & Expectations
Provide stewardship and oversight of the Alliance as a whole
Be committed to AVE’s mission, goals and policies
Actively participate in monthly meetings (by Zoom)
Avoid any conflicts of interest and situations that would compromise the principles of the Alliance and comply with our code of conduct
Who Should Apply:
We are looking for individuals with:
Expertise in genetics, bioinformatics, medical research, or related fields
Leadership experience
Demonstrated ability to think independently and work collaboratively
Ability to identify opportunities aligned with the group’s goals and translating these into actionable plans
Integrity and high ethical standards
A commitment to fostering collaboration and advancing genomic research
The Alliance believes that a diverse and inclusive community is absolutely essential to the achievement of our shared scientific goals. We also believe that it is critical to address racial disparities in genomics and health research, to ensure that all people can benefit from the Alliance’s work.
Board members may serve no more than two 3-year terms.
